Unless you didn’t pay your internet bill, countless hours of free Hip-Hop music was offered to Hip-Hop enthusiasts everywhere.
Whether you’re a fan of the west coast flow, that down south style, some old gangsta ish, and even some New York state of mind swag, October 31st and November 1st definitely had something for everyone.
However, with all these tapes released in 2 days, some were lost in the cluster of music and weren’t sure which ones were worth the listen.
Well Hip-Hop Wired is here to help! Peep the page #’s below to see which mixtapes dropped this week and which ones we think you should check!
ASAP Rocky
Live Love ASAP
One of the most talked about rappers as of late thanks to a $3million dollar signing, provides his first real body of work to give the people a glimpse into Rocky’s Purple World.
Although he’s a Harlem rapper, don’t let the stereotypes get the best of ya.
ASAP definitely has some of that Southern/Texas style in his music, and with tracks produced by the likes of DJ Burn One, ASAP shows his smooth flow over those laid back instrumentals.
Burn one and enjoy, this is an easy choice for a mixtape you need to hear.
Freddie Gibbs
Cold Day In Hell
Gibbs is bringing back an element in Hip-Hop that has been missing for awhile, some real Gangsta ish.
While trends, dances, and boasting has dominated the airwaves for awhile, who doesn’t need a reminder that rappers will rob your B**ch A**?
Also bringing back the lost art of 3 full verses in every song, Gibbs with the help of features like Young Jeezy def has a mixtape that sounds like a solid album.
2 Chainz
TrueRALigion
SIMILAC!!!!
2 Chainz aka Tity Boi has been having one hell of a year.
With 2 radio hits, a remix with the King of the South, and recently interviewed by Forbes..yes FORBES magazine, it seems the years of work are finally paying off for 2 Chainz.
With a boat load of features including Kreayshawn -__-, 2 Chainz gives you that southern flow that will have you bouncing in your seat.
Trey Songz
Anticipation 2
I mean, it’s always good to have a mixtape ready for when your special lady friend(s) are coming over, right?
Well Tremaine is always a good one for the OD mood music, and his new mixtape does not disappoint.
It’s cuffing season gentleman, act accordingly.
LEP Bogus Boys
Now or Neva
One of the hottest up and coming emcees from Chicago!
Tuck ya chains in!
Fat Joe
The Darkside 2
Fat Joe released one of the most slept on albums last year and may have released one of the most slept on mixtapes this year.
As a continuation of his “Darkside” series, Joe showcases why he’s been a veteran in the game for so long.
Bringing his fellow New York rappers like Raekwon and Jadakiss along, Joe may of lost the fat part but not the rap part.
Nipsey Hussle
The Marathon Continues
In part two of his “Marathon” series, Nipsey drops some new material to give us that California love and keep us occupied until the release of the album.
With special guest appearances from YG, Dom Kennedy, and more, peep the West coast flow from Nipsey and company.
Birdman & Mack Maine
Billionaire Minds
It may not be your cup of tea, but a lot of people are down with the YMCMB.
Birdman and Mack Maine try to hold their own on a couple of tracks and pretend they still make music.
While we aren’t in a hurry to listen, it does feature tracks with Ace Hood, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross.
If you are down with the crew, check it out!
