This is getting ridiculous. President Obama has to fend off racism from average citizens, and even those in the political spotlight, like Sarah Palin.

Palin, former governor of Alaska, used her platform to accuse to president of trying to cover up the attacks in Benghazi, Libya that resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, last month. In a post on Facebook, Palin asked “Why the lies?” but her inquiry started and ended on a racist foot when she accused the commander in chief  of dancing around the facts.  “President Obama’s shuck and jive shtick with these Benghazi lies must end,” she wrote.

The term—which has racially insensitive overtones—is commonly used to depict a person as a fool,  and is usually spewed at Black people.

Palin’s disrespectful word choice came just after Anne Coulter called the president a “retard.” When questioned about her word use, Coulter (who has been given some kind of public pass to get away with such stupidity) made no apologies. “Oh please!” she said in an interview with Inside Edition. “No not, come on. We’re going to have to have an entire Encyclopedia Britannica of the words we can’t use.”

As for Palin, even though she’s quick to pull the sexism card when treated incorrectly, she has a reputation for being ignorant, so we’re not totally surprised by her racist disposition. But that doesn’t make it excusable.
