The world was first introduced to Serena Williams when the pre-teen athlete burst onto the scene with her sister Venus donning matching hairstyles and a mouth full of braces.
Proving to naysayers that Black girls could have a place in the world of competitive tennis, we’ve seen the younger Williams sister grow before our very eyes—ditching braids and beads and opting for high fashion and flowing weaves.
Currently sidelined for a foot injury and previously withstanding surgery for a pulmonary embolism, we can’t wait to see this Williams sister back where she belongs—on the court this fall.
