A clown and a cop got into a fight, but only one of the two walked away victorious. A Milwaukee police officer and a man dressed as a clown became the latest viral marvels as footage of their tussle Friday (Nov. 16) ended up online.
Quick-thinking witness Mitch Cooper watched the fight unfold and pulled out his cell phone. “I pulled up to the stop-light on the corner of Water and Wells, and I kind of happened to look to my right because there was a little bit of movement of a police officer approaching this man kind of dressed as a clown, but you couldn’t really tell. It was really weird,” he explained. “What’s going through my head is a cop beating up a clown. How can I not capture this video and show it to all my friends?”
Displaying a heightened level of commitment to his job, the cop is seen holding it down against the clown—who happens to be a local activist—and never gives up on attempts to maintain a death grip. Police refused to give an on-camera interview but told a Wisconsin news station that they received several complaints about the clown, who protested City Hall earlier in the week, and resisted arrest leading up to the brawl.
Far from a professional wrestler, after a few rolls on the likely freezing cold concrete, the cop is able to put his leg over his opponent, at which point a second officer jumps in, and the clown accepts defeat.
The video footage also shows a life-sized stuffed bear…sitting on a bike.
We couldn’t make this stuff up if we tried.
