Secretary of State Hillary Clinton finally had her day on Capitol Hill, and she came out swinging. Clinton missed her first opportunity to be questioned about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya due to illness, but during today’s exchange with Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), things got heated.

Johnson accused the 65-year-old of making excuses for an alleged breach in security that led to the death of four Americans. His words clearly rubbed Clinton the wrong way, because she was visibly annoyed before lashing out at Johnson for being preoccupied with the wrong thing. “With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans,” she said. “Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk last night who decided to kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from every happening again, Senator.”

When questioned about the exchange later in the afternoon, Johnson said Clinton was showcasing nothing but “theatrics,” because she didn’t want to answer certain questions.

Clinton’s testimony was not only centered around Benghazi, but the raised threat of more terrorist attacks. Her appearance comes days after three Americans were killed in Algeria during a hostage standoff.
