Who is Mendeecess Harris? When he was first introduced as one of the new cast members on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop New York, he appeared to be just another addition to the drama, but the last few weeks have unearthed lots more about his past.
Boyfriend to Yandy Smith (former manager of Jim Jones), Harris made his debut on LHHNY with a storyline of the couple moving forward with their relationship. Smith wanted a ring, and Harris wanted to get her away from her mother.
Although his LHHNY life was mildly interesting, these days, its his legal troubles keeping his name in the press. Harris is accused of s-xually abusing a 15-year-old girl, who allegedly gave him oral s-x in exchange for money. Once the story broke, Smith and Harris were rumored to have been written out of the reality show, which was denied by LHHNY producer Mona Scott-Young.
Currently in jail in Rochester, N.Y., the latest addition to the Harris story is an indictment for trafficking $2.5 million worth of drugs between 2005 and August of last year. Two cohorts have also been accused and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In addition to surrendering to authorities in late January, over $1.5 million from a safe deposit box tied to the case, plus nearly $407,000 worth of jewelry and watches, have been seized by the feds.
