The Game often gets more credit for his outlandish comments and online antics than his actual music. The West Coast veteran has another side, however, and displayed such in a lengthy interview with Larry King while covering his career, his charity project and much more.

On the show, Larry King Now!, Game explained how he began his charitable “The Robin Hood Project” non-profit and its goal of giving away $1 million of his own money to those in need around the world.

“I was in Australia in a grocery store and I was coming out of a grocery store, and I had a hundred dollars in Australian currency,” said Game. “I spent about $70 or $80 on groceries and when I came out, I saw these two Nigerian kids, they ended up being brothers, kicking a soccer ball around.”

Game explained he gave one of the boys the remaining money he had, and the reaction touched him so much that he went around the country gifting homeless people and others struck with poverty.

After learning of the shooting death of six-year-old California Tiana Ricks, Game gave $10,000 to her family to aid in paying for the funeral. Joining Game in the gifting others has been Top Dawg of Top Dawg Entertainment, La La Anthony, and Khloe Kardashian as well.

King then shifted gears, asking Game about his Trayvon Marin tattoo and the George Zimmerman trial itself. “His mother [Sybrina Fulton]  texted me and thanked me for keeping his memory alive. I thought that was pretty cool,” said a laidback Game.

The rapper also voiced his frustrations over the trial, carefully choosing his words as he did so. The interview got really candid, as Game talked about his rough upbringing, his criminal past and even calling his face tattoo a bad idea.
