Being The Bawse of Maybach Music Group means never going without a dull moment, and when you’re as big as Rick Ross (figuratively speaking, of course. He’s been in the gym), it’s hard to make moves without finding yourself in at least one awkward situation. Rozay has had more than a few incidents that he’d probably like to forget, but it doesn’t really work that way in the public eye.

Over the weekend, Ross was allegedly run up out of the Motor City the day he was supped to perform at Hot 107.5 FM’s Summer Jam Z17. The Ross show never happened, but not because an alleged mob was outside ready to properly wash and fold the 38-year-old “War Ready” rapper before he ever made it to the stage.

Rozay blamed the issue on the show promoter. He also let loose a semi-comprehensible, yet weird, metaphor about the living in the wild. “In the jungle you don’t let the lions out,” he said. “You lock ’em in!”

Um, yeah.

So basically Ross is the physical representation of a word labyrinth, until he feels fully ready to address the situation. It’s a pattern.

Take a look at some of his awkward moments in the gallery below.

Fraudulent Louis Vuitton Glasses

The Louis glasses Ross wore on his 2009 XXL cover turned out to be knockoffs. This was the second crack in the Maybach Music leader’s facade. A year earlier he was exposed as a corrections officer (he lied about it until the Smoking Gun produced paychecks with his birth name and social security number). Louis Vuitton obviously wasn’t happy either. They sent a letter to XXL stating three main points:

The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.

Awkward.

Joking About Suicide

For his Rolling Stone column  last month Ross gave out some advice by throwing in a joke about suicide, and encouraging plagiarism. All in a day’s work.

The 50 Cent (Extended) Situation

50 Cent really took the Pimpin’ Curly thing to the extreme but at least it was funny. And the Pimpin Curly mini-segments snatched up over a million views on YouTube.

Getting Threatened By Gangster Disciples

The Gangster Disciples gang out of the Windy City didn’t take too kindly to Rozay using their leader Larry Hoover’s name in his music. They sent out a staunch warning telling Ross that he has to pay money for the word use.

Police got involved, Ross canceled shows in North Carolina reportedly over static with GD members,  it was pretty awkward. In the end, Ross (again) blamed the canceled shows on a promoter.

The Birthday Shootout In Miami

A car Ross was in was shot at numerous times as he was leaving his birthday dinner last January. Luckily, he and his passenger escaped uninjured. The Rolls Royce they were riding in met a different fate.

Hella Lawsuits

Ross can dodge a lawsuit like nobody’s business. He’s gotten into legal trouble for a bunch of different reasons, including taking paychecks to perform and not showing up, jacking someone’s identity (he w0n that battle, by the way), and allegedly skipping out on a Rolex bill.

Hanging Out With Justin Bieber

Ross is almost 40 and the Biebz isn’t even 21 yet. Studio time  is one thing but actually partying together? Nah.

Jeezy Fight

Ross and Jeezy got into a squabble at the BET Hip Hop Awards two years ago that might have been a draw depending on whose telling the story.  Ross said that he “tried to choke” the Snowman and chances are he wouldn’t have gotten very far with that. He may have weight on him but Jeezy isn’t one to play with.

The good news is these guys squashed their beef (thanks to T.I.) and did a record together.

The “U.O.E.N.O.” Snowstorm

Not sure why Ross didn’t know that his rape-esque line wouldn’t be well received, maybe he thought people don’t really pay attention to his lyrics in the first place. Nonetheless, he didn’t handle the “U.O.E.O.N.O.” firestorm really well. Instead of just apologizing in the beginning, Ross spouted off more verbal trickery about the lyric being a “misunderstanding” and then he gave a shout out to all the “sexy ladies” and “beautiful ladies” who had been reaching out to him about the controversial rhyme.

A few days later he issued an official apology.

This Tattoo

You can be “Rich Forever” without inking it on your bottom lip though. Everything doesn’t have to be so literal.
