It’s been another turbulent year for the Obama Administration, but Monday (Aug. 4) is a day that President Barack Obama can celebrate. The Commander in Chief turns 53 today, and as we know the Commander in Chief can’t always take vacations days at leisure.

Most recently, Congress approved a lawsuit against him brought by Speaker of the House John Boehner, and late last week he addressed the nation on the growth in the economy, the ongoing war in Gaza, and the Ebola virus. There’s never a shortage of items on his agenda, or criticism (and praise) coming from all sides of the country.

There has to be one day when the President can take a breather, at least for a minute. Then has has to get back to work.

In honor of his birthday, we’ve compiled 20 shot from Obama’s days in office.
