On 2000’s “The Truth,” Beanie Sigel’s debut single from his debut album, the undeniably talented MC boasted how he didn’t even chase his dreams as a rapper. After a decade of making a career off of records that primarily involved the ardent street life, it’s a safe bet to say he was indeed telling the truth.

Sigel recalled a time to DJ Vlad when Kanye felt like he was about to get robbed for his chain during the early days of Roc-A-Fella. Beans showed up and the would-be crooks got ghost.
