By now, everyone is well aware that Bow Wow is an accomplished actor. The man who cut his teeth on cinematic flicks such as Roll Bounce, Like Mike, Lottery Ticket, and Madea’s Big Happy Family wouldn’t take a job on Empire because it stereotypes Black actors.
He broke it down in an interview about racial diversity as it relates to his role on the CSI spinoff, CSI: Cyber.
“When we were still filming Cyber episodes, Empire‘s first episode premiered. Fans were saying, ‘Man, you should have been on the show.’ But we all don’t rap or play basketball,” he said. “We can do so many things. There are young African-Americans who are intelligent enough to work at the FBI. That’s what’s so bright. Hopefully, I can help start a new wave of young black actors who don’t want to stereotype themselves.”
Twitter was quick to remind Bow of the following: He’s not up for a role on Empire.
