Former basketball star Gilbert Arenas has been linked to some messy, public relationships by the way of Basketball Wives LA cast members Laura Govan and Draya Michele. With recent rumors surfacing that Arenas was the father of Draya’s son, Arenas took to social media to clear the chatter and explain his side of things.
Draya, who confirmed recently she’s leaving the VH1 show, and her son were the centerpiece of online rumors regarding Arenas. Gossip Instagram account Industry On Blast put up a post with a photo of Arenas and Draya’s son, adding a caption that he paid her a $20,000 monthly settlement to keep things quiet. The post got the attention of Arenas, who cleared up all the confusion by saying when he met Draya, the boy was already four years of age.
The Instagram post, which has since been deleted, was typical Arenas fare of grammatically challenging phrasing and run-on thoughts. Arenas claims he met Draya through former Washington Wizards teammate DeShawn Stevenson in 2008. Nick Young, aka Swaggy P, was also mentioned as Arenas’ “slave” in the post as part of the player’s rookie hazing we should assume.
Arenas challenged Industry On Blast, TMZ and Baller Alert in a bet to prove their stories about the hush money he supposedly paid. He added that if they can prove he actually did what they’re claiming, he’d donate $1 million to each of their charities.
