Marvel’s summer release of Ant-Man was a huge success to the tune of $409 million worldwide, especially considering the character isn’t largely known outside of comic book circles. With the character’s brand proven to be a hit amongst audiences, it was only inevitable a sequel begin pre-production.

The studio couldn’t even wait for the film to enter On Demand channels and has just announced the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp, slated for a July 6, 2018 release. Paul Rudd will be returning as the titular character and co-star Evangeline Lilly is expected to fully assume her character Hope Van Dyne’s alter-ego, the Red Queen.

Also on the Marvel Phase 3 menu is the release of “Black Panther” moving up to February 16, 2018 (stragetically placed for Black History Month, no doubt) and Captain America: Civil War which releases on March 8, 2019, and the aforementioned T’Challa character will also make his debut in the film.
