Few woman in the Hip-Hop game have figured out how to walk the fine line tiptoed by Karen Civil (see any urban reality show these days) which makes her one of the most revered figures in the game.
Having recently celebrated her birthday, the New Jersey native turned Los Angeles transplant was out in New York City to promote her new book and checked in with the three amigos over at The Breakfast Club.
A lot of clarity was made and rumors cleared up with this interview. Check out the top highlights from her latest sitdown.

But What Does She Do?
Being a woman in the gritty Hip-Hop industry, Karen attests that she gets hit with dating accusations of her clients or people being confused with the nature of her hustle altogether. As of press time, she co-manages Nipsey Hussle, works closely with YG and his charity and is still down to assist Lil Wayne and Young Money. She also clarified that she never dated Meek Mill’s cousin Omelly. It was actually his friend Deen, whom she is no longer with.

Cole World
Karen tells the Club her days of being “a cheerleader” for rappers on the come-up are over. Citing J. Cole as an example, she witnessed how people change and stop keeping in contact (or speaking) when they become a bigger artist.
Presidential
Karen Civil recently hosted the “African Americans For Hillary” campaign where the presidential hopeful addressed issues within the Black community that was more than enough to earn her vote. Black Lives Matter interrupted the event which Civil called “unfortunate” because Clinton wasn’t finished with her outlines for her tenure in the Oval Office.
Be You & Live Civil
Having recently celebrated her birthday, Karen decided to give young (and seasoned) entrepreneurs a real gift with the release of her new book, which expands on four tools how to obtain one’s personal empire. The book is available now at Barnes & Nobles, Kindle and Amazon.
Cash Money Is AÂ Army Struggle
Although she had previously planned to distribute the book with Cash Money, something about her intuition (or maybe Birdman’s track record) forced her to reconsider.
The Live Civil Playground
Karen reps her Haitian roots to the fullest. Alongside her Live Civil team, the music maven has worked to build a playground in Pétionville, a suburb of Port-au-Prince Haiti. Click here for the full story.
Beats By Dre
Back when the game’s top headphones launched in 2008, the brand ambassadors were Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine and Karen Civil–in that order. She still has the plug, too. Just ask DJ Envy who is in dire need of an upgrade.
