It seems like the po po continue to find new ways to abuse their power. The police watchdog group known as the Peaceful Streets Project has released a video that showcases an Austin officer identified as Cameron Cadwell pepper-spraying a man who’s handcuffed in a police truck.

The reprehensible action that was caught on tape was a culmination of police harassment and unnecessary use of pepper-spray during the annual SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.

During the festival police were filmed pressing a man in handcuffs who repeatedly stated “I didn’t do nothing wrong,” breaking up a fight between two women by pepper-spraying them (they couldn’t just pull them off each other?), and ultimately pepper-spraying a man handcuffed and in police custody for allegedly kicking the door.

“What did I tell you about kicking the door?” Cadwell said before spraying the restrained man in the face and closing the door leaving him to scream and inhale the chemical agents in the confined space.

Reports RAW STORY:

“They’re treating pepper spray like a grand marshal treats candy at a parade, just throwing it out there like crazy,” Buehler said, according to the Free Thought Project.

“Listen, we see these cops violating policy and committing crimes all the time, but usually there is some gray area that they like to dance (in),” Buehler said. “This was just crystal clear, there is no way by law or policy that what this guy did was acceptable. There is zero gray area.”

The Peaceful Streets Project took to the streets of Austin to film police interaction with the public when its founder began to notice that the police of the city of Austin were pray happy, which unfortunately for the citizens of Austin, that seems to be just the case.
