On Friday night (January 11), the Oklahoma City Thunder spanked the Los Angeles Lakers 116 – 101. But what sneaker aficionados may have been talking about more than the game itself were the ill Air Jordan III PEs that Russell Westbrook wore as he dropped 27 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.
The “cement” hits were still present in Westbrook’s predominantly black kicks as well as hits of blue and orange to in line with the Thunder’s team colors. The Jumpman logo on the heel of the shoe is yellow. No word yet on if Westbrook’s kicks will ever hit retail. Best believe they will inevitably hit the EBay market.
Westbrook officially joined Jordan Brand in back in October, shortly after Dwyane Wade left the brand at the end of his contract and moved on to Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning. Like Wade, Westbrook will also sport Michael Jordan’s signature kicks on the court; the most recent release being the Tinker Hatfield designed Air Jordan XX8.
Always showing nice taste in his on court shoes, Westbrook probably will have even more PE (player edition) heat to flex with retro Air Jordan models this season. Check out shots of Westbrook’s Air Jordan III PE’s in the gallery.
