When the world learned that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian named their baby North West, one person who was immediately “honored” by the whole thing is N.O.R.E. Baby West will be called “Nori” for short, so the comparison is pretty clear.
Sway Calloway joked that the name was “copyright infringement,” prompting a response from N.O.R.E. ” First off I would like to say congratulations bringing a baby into this world is one beautiful thing,” he told the Sway in the Morning crew. “I have plenty of babies, more than one hand can count, and I love it.”
As for sharing the same name, he’s cool with that. “I’m honored.” Although the Queens MC never met ‘Ye’s “baby mama,” he’s assured that the nickname is an ode of sorts. “I’ve never met any Kardashian at all….Scott Dissick is pretty cool with me. Even if they named him Nori, and Kim doesn’t know who I am — I’m sure Kanye knows who I am. So, I’m very honored.”
The baby is a girl, which Sway pointed out.
“I’m very honored that it’s even remotely similar to my name,” N.O.R.E. continued. “Congratulations to YeKim. I don’t call ’em KimYe because I’m Hip-Hop.”
Gotta love this guy.
