Drake gave the look, the verse, and even the hook to a list of up and comping rappers since he’s reached superstar status. Not to say that the Toronto rapper has birthed any artist’s career per se, but he’s undoubtedly created a platform and heightened the fan bases of a lucky few.

Drake’s knack for laying verses on tracks on the cusp of blowing up is well documented. Take his show out appearance on Migos’ breakout hit “Versace” back in summer 2013 or today’s surprising remix of ILOVEMAKONNEN’s “Tuesday,” for instance.

To put it simply, Drizzy stays abreast of the songs moving culture at all times, which more often than not results in a win for himself and the recipient in the end.

Adding flair to established records and using his star power to put the right eyes on unknown/bubbling artist is all a part of Drake’s forte. Hit the jump to peep a list of his best 13 impromptu remixes below.

Fabolous ft. Drake – “Throw It In The Bag (Remix)

At the time, the Canadian rhymer still had the new artist allure and was seemingly unstoppable. Consider this verse to be another notch on his belt.

Drake ft. Lykke Li – “Little Bit (Remix)”

It was more common for Drizzy to go jacking for beats early on in his career. From that time, his remix of Lykke Li’s Youth Novels track is a standout.

DJ Drama ft. Future & Drake – “We In This B**ch 1.5 (Remix)”

Future, too, was still bubbling at the time, so many eyes were on him. But this contributing verse from Toronto’s favorite was the highlight of Mr. Thanksgiving’s remix.

Rick Ross ft. Drake – “Aston Martin Music (Remix)”

Though Drake’s verse didn’t appear on the version of the track that appeared on Teflon Don, he managed to wash the Bawse on his own track nonetheless.

Future ft. Drake – “Tony Montana (Remix)”

The YMCMB rapper can spot a hit in the making from a mile away. Hear proof above.

Rick Ross ft. Lil Reese & Drake – “Us (Remix)”

Rozay’s The Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape wasn’t his best work by any standard. Consensus (we being consensus) says that Drake’s verse on the “Us” remix was one of its few bright spots.

Migos ft. Drake – “Versace (Remix)”

This cut propelled Migos and their flow, which would is still being mimicked by tons of rappers a year later, to popularity.

OB O’Brien ft. Drake & Tinashe – “2 On (Remix)”

Yes, this is Tinashe’s record, but a proper treatment from the OVO duo gave it a new feel.

DJ Khaled ft. Drake, Rick Ross, & Lil Wayne – “No New Friends (SFTB Remix)”

Most people forget that this DJ Khaled single is really the “Started From the Bottom (Remix).” If you don’t know, now you know.

ILOVEMAKONNEN ft. Drake – “Tuesday ( Remix)”

ILOVEMAKONNEN is perhaps Drake’s most obscure remix to date. But don’t be surprised if folks chant this chorus from here to Timbuktu.

SBTRKT ft. Drake & Little Dragon – “Wildfire (Remix)”

The UK DJ’s music doesn’t necessarily appeal to the casual Hip-Hop listener. This Drake verse briefly changed that, though.

Future ft. Drake & Juicy J – “Sh*t ( Remix)”

Drizzy was feeling himself the day that he recorded this.

Waka Flocka Flame ft. Drake – “Round Of Applause (Remix)”

The Flockavelli rapper makes hits. This we know. However, Drake’s verse took “Round Of Applause” to another level.
