Slum Village is still on it, as they release two fresh joints called “Summer Breeze” and “Braveheart.” Both appear on their new album Evolution, which dropped on June 25. They are definitely making this 20th anniversary a special one with great music and visuals for their fans.
“Summer Breeze” comes right in time for the season — the video is filled with beautiful, curvaceous women. The Detroit MCs distinctly describe what they would like to do to a special lady they will encounter on their journey. The freedom of love and scorching heat during this season provide the natural aphrodisiacs that power through the track. As they “let the summer breeze blow,” the romanticism within the lyrics makes this a feel good song.
“Braveheart” gives us a darker side of Slum Village, who channel the elements of the movie while describing their lyrical style. Gritty and hitting home, they bring out a different side, which shows us how versatile they can be on this album.
