The Internets are still in a frenzy as more details come out about the rumored J. Cole and Sean “Diddy” Combs fight that occurred this weekend. Whether J.Cole did say something slick about Cassie and then promptly got served a fade by Diddy or not, it is clear some sort of confrontation did occur.
Diddy has since renounced the rumors via Twitter insisting “we are friends the rumors are not true” and J. Cole tweeted “people will believe anything.”
While his mogul status keeps Diddy in and out of corporate boardrooms, he has quite a documented history of keeping it gangster, when need be. Here are Diddy’s top 10 gangster moments on the streets and in the contract sheets.

On April 15th 1999, Diddy stormed then Interscope Records executive Steve Stoute’s office. Steve Stoute was supposed to edit out some crucifixion scenes containing Diddy from Nas’ “Hate Me Now” visual, but the video was premiered on MTV with no edits made. The story goes Diddy showed up unannounced with two of his goons and proceeded to give Steve that work by slamming him in the head with a telephone and a champagne bottle. After the this legendary beat down, Stoute told the police “They were on me so fast, I barely had time to cover my head.”
According to Combat Jack, Diddy gave rapper Positive K the fives over some unpaid monies:
“Spring 1995, New York City. Bad Boy Entertainment is hip hop’s number 1 label on the East Coast and the G.O.A.T. Biggie Smalls was still alive. Jessica Rosenbaum (the Jewish American Princess bitch who promotes hip hop functions) threw a weekly dinner dance event at a club called Esso’s where all the “beautiful” hip hop industry folks could gather, talk mad shit and waste ungodly amounts of money on liquor, party and bullshit.
In addition to his growing record empire, Puffy was making his name as a producer and one of the many artists he produced a song for at the time (I don’t think I ever heard it) was Brooklyn rapper Positive K. K seemed like a cool dude, ran with Audio Two and MC Lyte and even scored a nationwide hit with a single called “I Gotta Man.” Anyways, I’m sitting at a table with my folks and Puffy and his weed carrying entourage make a grand entrance. Shortly thereafter, Positive K walks in dolo. Puffy sees K and approaches him. Apparently, Positive K (or, more specifically, his record label) hadn’t gotten around to paying Puff his producer fee (which was something like 5 thousand dollars) and Puff was heated.
In addition, I heard that both Puff and K were in Los Angeles a week earlier and when Puff stepped to K about his dough, K was like “You? Ni–a please, I’ll get atcha when I get at ya, B-tch!” So, at Club Esso’s, when Puff steps to K again, he asks “Yo ni–a, you got my money?” K looks at Puff like “whatever ni–a” and starts to walk away when Puff whips out his cell phone (phones at the time were about the size of a brick) and starts whupping on K’s head like there’s no effin tomorrow! The place goes crazy, chicks are sceaming, folks are scrambling around and Positive K is catching a royal cell phone ass beating by none other than Sean “Puffy” Combs.
So, after Puff feels like K had enough and asks him “whose my b-tch, K, WHOSE MY BITCH?!!!” K wimpers out “uncle” through some broken and bloody teeth. Puff then steps away from K’s crumpled up body and Puff’s bodyguards (he only had like two at the time), each scoop K up by his armpits and tosses his broken ass out the club and onto the sidewalk. The party resumes, we all get pissy drunk and that’s the last effin time I hear anything about Positive K (if anyone knows what he’s up to these days, please let me know).”
On November 17, 2005, The Lox went to HOT 97 to express their frustration about Diddy still owning a large share of their publishing rights many years after their stint on Bad Boy Records. The Yonkers trio proceeded to talk gangster about their former mentor until Diddy called up to cut down their tough talk.
And how can we forget when Diddy went ham on promoter Kenny Burns for drinking Grey Goose at an Atlanta nightclub? Thankfully T.I., who was fresh out of jail, cooled things down before anybody got their head busted.
At the height of the Tupac east coast insults, Puff Daddy hosted a mix tape talking very directly to Tupac calling him a b*tch, actor and more. Combs even mentioned the Bad Boy Records office address was listed in the Yellow Pages for anyone who felt brave enough to pay him a visit.
In 2007 Diddy allegedly assaulted Steven Acevado over a female model both men allegedly had dealings with. Acevado was left with a bloody nose and a busted lip after getting a two piece from Diddy. The two men have since reconciled and settled the matter out of court.
In 2007 Diddy tried to bag club patron Gerard Rechnitzer’s girlfriend. When Rechnitzer tried to intervene, Diddy allegedly attacked him causing him to “fly backward several feet” and hit a parked car. Diddy didn’t get the girl though.
In 1996, Diddy allegedly threatened his then Bad Boy Records president Kirk Burrowes with a bat to forfeit his 25% share in the company. Burrowes then filed a lawsuit in 2006 which was tossed out in Manhattan Supreme Court.
In 2009 Charlamagne Da God went in on Cassie’s lack of talent and accused her of sleeping her way to the top. Allegedly Cassie was on the verge of crying during the interview. Years later Charlamagne awarded Diddy the “Donkey Of The Day” award and Diddy had enough. He called up Charlamagne Da God on the phone and set him straight. We doubt that conversation went as smoothly as Charlamagne puts it in this video though.

Over the years Diddy has sonned many of his artists, proving he is the ultimate paper gangster. Shyne did 10 years and left jail as an orthodox Jew. Loon is a Muslim now. G Dep caught a body unfortunately. Black Rob did time in prison. No one from Da Band has seen the spotlight since. Craig Mack came and went then came and went again to no success. Red Cafe has been on the shelves for some quite some time now. And Ma$e is just plain confused. Just peep 12 Former Bad Boy Records Artists Living In Struggle for a synopsis.
