Happy Friday folks! As we usher in another weekend, we provide another compilation soundtrack via The Wrap Up: Hip-Hop Wired’s Top 10 Songs Of The Week.
The past seven days were pretty good to Hip-Hop fans, as we drew closer to the release of a few highly anticipated albums. Lyricism and quality production is all one can ask for from a quality release, and fortunately, many of our favorite artists delivered.
A certain Canadian MC shook up the Internets with a track named after a clique of legends. We also got a hell of a song from a trio of a larger assortment of maturing Los Angeles MCs.
Get your fill of good music through The Wrap Up on the following pages. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Janelle Monae ft. Solange, Big Boi & Cee-Lo Green – “Electric Lady (Remix)”
Monae invites Daddy Fat Sax and The Soul Machine to the party she and Ms. Knowles started. Prepare to dance to this one.
Smoke DZA – “City Of Dreams”
Harlem’s own DZA tipped his hat to the city that birthed him and appropriately released it on September 11.
Chase & Status ft. Pusha T – “Machine Gun”
The UK production duo tapped King Push for verse on this EDM inspired cut. No, it doesn’t feel forced.
Nickelus F – “Solar Plexus”
There’s a reason why this Virginia MC has found his way on this list for the past few weeks. No lie.
MellowHigh (Hodgy Beats & Domo Genesis) – “In The Meantime”
These Odd Future guys have been quietly demolishing other MC’s output. Here’s another example.
Audio Push ft. Hit-Boy – “Told You So ft. Overdoz / Block Party”
That Los Angeles bounce of old oozes out of this track from the HS87 clique. We’re talking synth chords and that G-funk swing.
Raekwon ft. Mic Geronimo & The Kid Daytona – “T.U.R.K.E.Y.”
There’s no kink in this track’s lyrical armor, and this comes from NYC talent if you didn’t know.
Troy Ave ft. Raekwon, N.O.R.E. & Prodigy – “New York City”
Songs like this are NYC’s best bet if they’d like to return to prominence in Hip-Hop.
Drake – “Wu-Tang Forever”
Your feelings about the Canadian spitter fooling the lot of us with this title are warranted. However, the song is ill. Pay homage to that.
Rapsody ft. Chance The Rapper & Big K.R.I.T. – “Lonely Thoughts”
This tune originally appeared on Rap’s She Got Game mixtape sans Krizzle. Fortunately, this version will appear on a forthcoming retail version.
