Fans are known to do the craziest things at concerts. It may be hyperbole to state that rap fans are more unpredictable than rock fans, but you can’t count out the zany nature of Hip-Hop heads.

A$AP Rocky got a strong taste of the bizarre while Down Under during the Origin festival on New Year’s Eve. It takes place in Perth, the largest city in Western Australia.

During the sentimental segment of the show where Flacco was telling the Aussie crowd how much their support was appreciated, he noticed a man treated the overhead lights like his own personal monkey bars.

“Whoa whoa whoa, kid? What the f**k n***a, don’t die up there,” the “F*****g Problems” rapper pleaded with general concern.

And then…it happened. The plunge was at an estimated feet. According to the hospital’s account of his condition, he’ll never be pulling a stunt like this again.

Horizons Touring director Saran Bajaj, who organised the sold-out festival for 8000 patrons on the East Perth foreshore, said it was disappointing the man tried to slip past security officers.

He said they responded by clearing the space beneath him so nobody else was seriously hurt.

“We are really upset at the guy’s behaviour,” Mr Bajaj said.

“Slipping past security to go up there was really irresponsible and unfair on the crowd.”

The man’s injuries are serious but not life threatening.

Given the high-octane content of an A$AP Mob show, there’s always bound to be a few surprises. Just last summer, the PMF had to reveal his pimp hand when he slapped a girl gone wild at another one of his performances.
