Dennis Rodman’s man crush towards North Korea dictator Kim Jong-Un has reached new highs and lows in just one off-key rendition of the world’s most popular song.
Rodman serenaded Kim Jong Un with “Happy Birthday” à la Marilyn Monroe to JFK during his struggle exhibition game today, January 8.
The former NBA badboy needed more people for his constant trips to N. Korea soil–and he actually got them as former players such as Kenny Anderson (New Jersey Nets), Vin Baker (Milwaukee Bucks) and Charles D. Smith (New York Knicks) among others arrived in Kim Jongville this past Monday to partake in an exhibition game to celebrate the country’s leader’s birthday.
Hindsight is always 20/20 but a few of Rodman’s band of merry traitors players have already expressed their regret on following the blond-haired rebel across the world.
Smith spoke to the media yesterday on how he thought Rodman’s antics have overshadowed the intent to do some good, like playing basketball in a N. Korean gym could actually cure world hunger.
Reports ESPN:
“Some of the statements and things that Dennis has said has tainted our efforts,” Smith said. “Dennis is a great guy, but how he articulates what goes on — he gets emotional and he says things that he’ll apologize for later.”
Meanwhile, players such as Craig Hodges and Vin Baker sat courtside with looks of struggle forming on their faces. Reportedly there were no winners or losers. Everybody got a standing ovation and a medal.
Just like in little league.
