Pusha T Talks Walking Away From Kanye West, Blames “Lack Of Principles”

It seems like just yesterday the Hip-Hop world was hype when we learned that Pusha T had signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music label and though the two spent a few years working on multiple projects together, it doesn’t seem like Pusha has any interest in rekindling his old relationship with the self-proclaimed Nazi anytime soon.
In an interview with Complex, Pusha T opened up about his stance on Kanye West these days and though he doesn’t detail exactly what went wrong with their relationship, Pusha painted a picture of a man who was disheartened to be in the kind of situation he found himself in saying “I’m not in a position to where I can even risk and gamble with the wishy-washiness or the lack of loyalty,” he explained. “I don’t play like that. Why would I ever dive back into that type of scenario? I’m with my brother and Pharrell, come on.”
“I don’t even understand that lack of principles just amongst people you call your brother,” he continued. “I don’t get that. That’s not for me.”
Could he have had an issue with that Larry Hover concert and Kanye West and Drake did together in 2021? That could be part of it but reading how Pusha T describes it, it seems to be a deeper issue as Kanye West surrounded himself with the kind of people that A Tribe Called Quest warned us about with industry rule number 4080.
Per Complex:
Afterward, Pusha T reflected on the sessions for the recording of Ye’s Donda album, which is when he realized his friendship with the controversial star had run its course.
“It is just a whole host and a cast of characters,” remembered Pusha. “There are a lot of great ones who were there and who were contributors. And then there are a lot of people who are not that good, and they’re just around, and they’re around for no reason, and they’re like the backbiters and the people who have hidden agendas and so on and so forth. But you surround yourself by all this chaos. It’s not for me. It just wasn’t for me.”
Pusha went on: “On top of that, I mean, listen, just in how he tends to connect with a lot of people that I don’t connect with. I don’t understand that. That’s just not my name. He does it a lot, and it’s cool, but you got to just stay over there with that, and I’m going to stay over here with this.”
Could he be talking about MAGA people? Nazi’s? Kanye really went Faaaaar-right over the last few years so who knows what kind of people he’s been surrounding himself with. Kanye once hired rumored Nazi sympathizer Milo Yiannopoulos to be a part of his team for God’s sake!
While Pusha has made it clear that he doesn’t think that Kanye is a man (and that Kanye knows this), it seems like Yeezy’s way of life dissuaded Pusha from ever wanting to associate with him at all going forward, and we don’t blame him.
All we can do is wait and hope that Pusha one day details everything that he experienced while around Kanye West when he releases his tell-all autobiography or something.
