The 56th Annual Grammy Awards go down tonight in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. Whether you’re tuning in to watch the telecast on CBS or managed to land a ticket, we have some predictions about what to expect.

As we have noted before (see: Never Loved Us: 25 Rap Greats Who Never Won Grammy Awards), the Grammy Awards and Hip-Hop have had a love and mostly hate relationship. With controversy like the Grammy’s rap committee allegedly voting, and failing, to ban Macklemore & Ryan Lewis from the Rap categories, expect more drama when awards are handed out.

With that in mind, peep some prediction we have regarding the 2014 Grammy Awards in the following pages.

The Best Rap Album Category Will Lead To Hurt Feelings

The competition in this category here is fierce. Drake (Nothing Was the Same), Jay Z (Magna Carta…Holy Grail), Kendrick Lamar (good kid, m.A.A.d city), Kanye West (Yeezus) and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (The Heist). Hip-Hop heads are pushing for Kendrick, but Grammy history has them wary.

Jay Z & Beyoncé Will Break Twitter

Jay and Bey are arguable the biggest entertainers in the world. So when they hit the stage at the Staples Center, expect the Internets to go ham.

But Daft Punk May Win The Battle Thanks To The Force

Word is Daft Punk will be rocking Storm Trooper helmets. The French duo will be performing with Pharrell Williams, Stevie Wonders and Nile Rodgers. They already won.

Kendrick Lamar Will Gains New Followers

Of course we’re familiar with K. Dot’s exploits. But thanks to his Grammy performance you can expect him to gain a bunch of fans whose Hip-Hop knowledge starts and ends with Macklemore.

However, Kendrick Lamar’s Set Is Sounding Like Struggle

But why is Kendrick Lamar performing with Imagine Dragons? Prepare for confusion. But we’re banking on Kendrick’s portion being solid.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Will Win Big

Speaking of, expect Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to win big. Considering the Grammys are pretty much aligned with the demo that has embraced the duo’s music, don’t hold your breath for many Kendrick Lamar trophies.

You Probably Missed…

Did you know that Q-Tip is up for a Grammy? Hiatus Kaiyote’s “Nakamarra,” featuring the Abstract, is up for an award in the Best R&B Performance Category.

LL Cool J Will Repeatedly Lick His Lips

Uncle L has become a regular as the host of the Grammys. His lip licking habit has squandered any Chapstick endorsement opportunities, but he always reps for Hip-Hop like a pro while hosting.
