A judge in Haiti has agreed to free 8 of the 10 Baptist missionaries accused of child kidnapping in Haiti.

As previously reported 10 members of a U.S. Baptist church group were detained after being found driving to the Haitian border with 33 children illegally.

The group says they were trying to rescue the children and take them to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic.

All ten members were charged with child kidnapping and criminal association but now however Judge Bernard Saint-Vil has ruled that 8 of them can return home without posting bail if they agreed to return to Haiti for more questioning in the future.

The two members asked to stay behind, the leader of the group Laura Silsby and Charisa Coulter will still be held in custody for further investigation.
