Word that Lupe Fiasco and Ty Dolla $ign were collaborating on new music certainly raised eyebrows, since they have contrasting styles. Last evening, the MC gave further indication of what he and his singing counterpart cooked up by debuting “Snitches” for fans’ listening pleasure.
Lupe found his groove on a bouncy track with instrumentation that is sonically West Coast. Mellowing chords weave through claps and proper drums, as the Chicago native’s three catchy verses match the vibe. Ty Dolla provides a chorus that has a similar sing-along appeal and is partially inspired but Outkast’s Aquemini classic, “Rosa Parks.”
Additionally, Lupe delivered a sequel coined “30 (Snitches 2),” which from fellow Windy City native Lil Durk and Migos. It’s clear that the FNF founder is on a different wavelength nowadays. See why by tuning into “Snitches” below and “30 (Snitches 2)” on the following page.
