Nas is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Illmatic all month, and he did so in splendid fashion on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon last night. Backed by The Roots, the Queensbridge rapper performed “The World Is Yours” and “One Love” along with a hypeman that happened to be Q-Tip.
God’s Son was rocking a pair of Timberlands and an army jacket as a camo-shirt wearing Q-Tip handled the hook for the Pete Rock-produced “The World Is Yours.” But if you’re really on point, you’d realize that halfway through the Roots flipped the instrumentation to the Q-Tip remix version of the song.
“Seems like the 90s right here,” said Nas. The Queens-duo for the evening also dropped a rendition of “One Love.”
Dopeness.
Watch “The World Is Yours” below and “One Love” on the flip. Nas’ Illmatic XX is in stores April 15.
