In a story that sounds like an episode of Scandal, actor Columbus Short’s wife is accusing him of threatening to kill her and himself, last week.
Tuere Short kicked Columbus out of the house and has filed for divorce.
A restraining order has also been granted.
The incident, Turere claims, occurred on April 7. Columbus stumbled into her bedroom drunk and holding a bottle of wine (that he later poured on her), legal documents state.
Things got worse from there.
Tuere Short claims Columbus then ran to the kitchen for a knife, pinned her to the couch and began choking her. She says he then demanded they play a game he called “Truth or Truth.” He allegedly said if she lied he would stab her in the leg.
She says he then started naming men he believed she was having affairs with. She denied them all but he allegedly then put the knife to her throat and threatened murder/suicide. As she tried escaping she says he slashed her tire.
The restraining order requires Columbus to move out of the house. We’ve learned cops were there today to ensure the peace as he moved out.
Tuere also filed for divorce Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter.
It turns out this guy has a history of domestic altercations with his wife. He copped a criminal domestic violence charge for allegedly putting hands on her in front of their child back in February. He pled not guilty to the charge.
Columbus was arrested again a couple weeks later, this time for pushing Tuere during an argument.
Last month was accused of beating up some dude outside of an engagement party. A few days later Columbus, his wife, and child were seen out in Los Angeles smiling in front of TMZ cameras.
With all these allegations and charges mounting, his reputation can’t be looking too good right now.
Olivia Pope probably can’t even help him at this point.
