This edition of  The Wrap Up: Hip-Hop Wired’s Top 10 Songs Of The Week is sonically marvelous. And no, we aren’t trolling — this is the real thing.

Assembled are a host of tracks that pull inspiration from an array of musical styles. While the majority of the MCs featured are recognizable in voice and tone, some of their production choices fall off of their usual paths. If you didn’t know, we embrace daring-do around these parts when done in good taste.

10. Waka Flocka Flame – “Slippin”

Waka Flocka can craft a club-friendly cut with best of them. We won’t say that this is a hit record, but it’s definitely worth a spin.

9. Salva ft. ScHoolboy Q, Kurupt, Problem & Bad Lucc – “Drop That B**ch”

Los Angeles county unites over this electronic interpolation of Eazy-E’s classic track “Boyz N The Hood.”

8. Pharrell – “Smile”

Producer: Pharrell

Skateboard P continues to bat for 1000 with this Japan-exclusive G I R L track. Were the states not worthy, bro?

7. Earl Sweatshirt ft. Mac Miller & Vince Staples – “NEBRASKA MM VS ES

Sweatshirt was in the mood to released some unheard heat. Thank the Friday gods.

6. Vic Mensa – “Down On My Luck”

Producer: Stefan Ponce and Vic Mensa

Mensa has range. There’s really no other way to put it.

5. Meek Mill ft. Rick Ross – “Off The Corner”

This cut is much slower than Meek’s previous attempts to own the summer, but it still bangs.

4. The Roots ft. Raheem DeVaughn – “Tomorrow”

Producer: Questlove/The Roots

The legendary rap collective never had a conventional creative process. For instance, this song features no rap verses, but managed to trump the majority of music released this week.

3. Travi$ Scott ft. Big Sean – “Don’t Play”

Producer: Travi$ Scott

The Houston native delivered a heater in advance of the summertime. Let this usher in the season.

2. Big K.R.I.T. – “Mt. Olympus”

Producer: Big K.R.I.T.

Krizzle’s lyrical ability often goes underrated, as some Hip-Hop talking heads say he’s monotonous. However, it’s difficult to detract from this record.

1. Michael Jackson & Justin Timberlake – “Love Never Felt So Good”

Producer: Timbaland

Nearly five years after Jackson’s untimely passing, the legend reminds the world exactly why he achieved GOAT status during his lifetime.
