Mike WiLL Made It saw success fairly quickly, and he’s only advanced his craft in the last year. While speaking with Hot 97’s morning show, the Atlanta producer discussed why he never slowed down per se, future projects, and more.

Co-host Ebro Darden cited Mike WiLL’s amazing 2012 run, which including tracks like G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy,” but claimed that latter portion of 2013 belonged to DJ Mustard. The southern producer, however, was quick to interject.

“End of 2013, I wouldn’t even say that I slowed down,” Mike WiLL said. “I was executive producing Miley Cyrus album [Bangerz], so I had eight songs on there.”

Soon after that, he began executive producing Future’s Honest LP and he put the finishing touches on a label deal with Interscope. That said, it’s clear that Mike WiLL didn’t halt his operation. He just shifted his focus.

Yesterday (June 16), Mike WiLL Made It debuted his new record “Buy The World,” featuring Future, Lil Wayne, and Kendrick Lamar, from his upcoming Est. In 1989 (Pt. 3).
