Sometimes reality T.V. brings about the wrong kind of exposure.

 

 

Just as the spotlight can be used to push virtual unknowns to celebrity status, it can put a magnifying glass on their actions. Whether it’s keeping up with the pressures of being in the public eye or not, reality stars have been getting into trouble left and right. Not everyone proclaims guilt (or innocence) though, and not everyone gets off without jail time.

Apollo Nida

Apollo Nida from Real Housewives of Atlanta fame was sentenced to 8 years in prison for a money fraud scheme where he pocketed millions.

Mandeecees Harris

Love & Hip Hop New York star Mandeecees Harris had a lot going on. He was arrested on drug trafficking charges two years ago, and released on bail earlier this year. In 2013 he was found acquitted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Mally Mall

Music producer Jamal “Mally Mall” Rashid  (the guys with the pencil beard from Love & Hip Hop Hollywood ) had his Las Vegas home raided by the FBI in September 2014. The situation reportedly involves human trafficking.

Teresa and Joe Guidice plead guilty in Federal Court in NJ

Joe Guidice

Joe Guidice, of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, was sentenced to more than 3 years in prison for fraud. His wife, Teresa Guidice, got 15 months.

Alan Beiler

Amish Mafia cast member Alan Beiler was sentenced to 3 to 23 months  for leading cops on a car chase, driving on a suspended license, and drug possession.

 

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino made millions with the Jersey Shore but he didn’t pay the IRS. He was arrested for tax evasion in September 2014.

Alicia DiMichele Garofolo

Alicia DiMichele Garofalo’s story on Mob Wives surrounded her pending legal woes. She was facing up to six months  in jail for an embezzlement case involving her husband. Garofalo was sentenced to four years of probation.

Richard “Oh Sh*t!” Duncan

Black Ink’s Oh Sh*t is facing serious jail time for gun possession in New York City.

Bruce Beressford Redman

Bruce Beressford Redman isn’t a reality star, he’s a reality TV producer and co-creator of MTV’s Pimp My Ride. Redman was arrested after his wife was found dead Mexico. He was extradited back to the country in 2012 where he is currently locked up.
