Successful artists can attribute their wins, in part, to having a strong team. That said, Hip-Hop mourns the death of De’Von Pickett, a road and tour manager to the stars, who was fatally stabbed outside of a Philadelphia bar on Tuesday night (Feb. 17).
Fox 29 reports that police believe Pickett, who close friends and clients commonly referred to as “Day Day,” and another man, Eric Parker, also a tour manager, got into an argument with a man inside of Che Bar in the city’s Mt. Airy section. The verbal exchange was taken outside, where a violent altercation broke out.
The suspect had a knife clutched in his fist, leaving Pickett and Parker with multiple stab wounds. A man on the scene drove the two men to nearby Einstein Hospital, where the former was pronounced dead. Parker is in critical condition.

Pickett has worked with artists like Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Pusha T, and K Michelle, each of whom spoke highly of him on social networks.
“Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly,” Nicki tweeted, continuing “One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour.” She went on to call Pickett a “great man” in a corresponding Instagram post.
