Hollywood brings magical stories to the silver screen, but the truth is that directors sometimes have it rough when our favorite actors don’t get along. Here are some co-stars who beefed worth noting.

Jamie Foxx & LL Cool J

On paper, you’d think Foxx and LL would get along. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, as the two exchanged blows on the set of 1999 film Any Given Sunday.

Bill Murray & Lucy Liu

Murray didn’t sign on to reprise the role of Bosley, and that likely had much to do with Liu. People mag reported that the two got into a shouting match so harsh that shooting was called off for the day.

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams

Filmmaker Nicholas Cassavetes spilled the beans about Gosling and McAdams’ rocky relationship while shooting The Notebook. Oddly enough, the actor and actress would later become a couple for three years.

Shia LaBoeuf and Tom Hardy

Hardy said “I got knocked out by Shia LaBeouf, actually,” which says it all.

Terrence Howard and Robert Downey Jr.

Howard feels like he was dupped. “Well, it turns out … in order for, um … this is gonna get me in a lot of trouble, but … it turns out that the person that I helped become Iron Man, when it was time to re-up for the second one, took the money that was supposed to go to me and pushed me out,” he said.

Shirley MacLaine and Debra Winger

Terms of Endearment is a fan-favorite, but MacLaine (the mother) and Winger (the daughter) didn’t have a good rapport. The latter spoke to Herald-Tribune about her co-star, saying “She just behaved badly–she was competing with me”

Tyrese Gibson and James Franco

Gibson doesn’t want to work again, and he’s sure Franco thinks the same. Franco, however, told Complex this: “Maybe I was too into that role. I don’t try to be mean to anybody on a movie. In the past I’ve tended to isolate (myself), and maybe people take that as me being rude or me not liking them, but it’s really a way for me to stay in my character. I really had nothing personal against Tyrese, but I guess there were a lot of misunderstandings.”

Bruce Willis and Kevin Smith

This is technically an actor-director relationship, but it didn’t go well.

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey

Despite Swayze and Grey’s dynamic on-screen chemistry, they actually didn’t get along.

Will Smith and Janet Hubert

The first “Aunt Viv” in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is the best of the two. Too bad that Hubert and Smith didn’t get along.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ladies, but the Sex in the City stars aren’t the best of friends.

Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell

This behind the scenes beef was the seed that led to the end of the series.

Collin Farrell And Jamie Foxx

Farrell is rumored to have thought that Foxx was full of himself, and wasn’t too pleased about his Miami Vice check being fatter to boot.

Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie

These two weren’t necessarily enemies, but they lacked chemistry, which led The Tourist to a dismal box office performance.
