Young Thug finally got Lil Wayne’s attention over his Carter 6 campaign but the newest weirdo on the block is claiming he means no disrespect. Sort of.
The obviously rattled Weezy was recorded during a performance last night (April 9) stating, “I want y’all to do me a favor and stop listening to songs of ni**as that pose naked on they motherf*cking album cover.”
The shots were definitely fired but the Atlanta upstart didn’t allow them to connect. He took to his Instagram account to publicly dismiss any perceived notion that he was trying to make Weezy look foolish.

“I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated about his career and I feel him on that,” Thugga began. “But this is my idol. I would never in my life swap words with him or beef with him about–nothing. This is a person that I look up,” he concluded before taunting those instigating the beef on social media.
His self-professed love explains a lot about his antics as of late but sympathizing with Weezy’s frustrations could be taken as slight disrespect to; no?
I sat down with HipHopDX’s editor-in-chief Justin Hunte and Akthentik to discuss the brewing drama over the Carter fiasco. Watch it down below. Young Thug’s response can be found on the next page.
