There may not be a sneaker more readily recognizable by generations of people than Converse’s Chuck Taylor All Star. The shoe just got a redesign upgrade but don’t worry—the aesthetics are virtually the same while it gets a boost in cushioning thanks to Nike.
The rubber toe cap and the All Star patch are still there. But now there is full-length Nike Lunarlon tech in the sockliner and arch support to provide superior cushioning.
Just as when it debuted in 1917, the upper is still canvas. However, a padded tongue and perforated micro suede liner has been added for more breathability.
The new Fall 2015 Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II sneaker will be available starting Tuesday, July 28. The hi-top version will be $75 while the lo will come in at $70. Initial colorways will be black, red, white and blue.
