At some point Sunday, while your timeline was flooded with Tupac mentions, it probably registered that September 13 marked the 19-year anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death.
Aside from the tweets and Instagram posts, these 15 people who paid homage to Tupac so we could still picture him rollin’.

Nas
If you want a case of paying homage to Afeni’s son, look no further than the song “Thugz Mansion.” If you want a case of straight biting, see the “God’s Son” tattoo on Nas’ torso.
Jay Z And Beyonce
After catching ‘Pac’s wrath on the Makaveli album, Jay and his lady flipped the script by turning Makaveli’s “Me And My Girlfriend” into “03 Bonnie & Clyde.”
Treach
As if you didn’t already know, “Mourn You Til I Join You” is required listening.
Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg
If you’re tired of artists appearing as holograms feel free to thank Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg for unleashing the Tupac hologram on Coachella in 2012.
Master P
In addition to naming his 1999 album Only God Can Judge Me, Master P was also known for mimicking Tupac’s vocal intonation by drawing out some of the syllables in his rhymes. Was the colonel of the No Limit tank paying homage to Tupac or just biting?
Ja Rule
Prior to putting much more emphasis on the type of singing that would ultimately hurt his career, Ja Rule also co-opted elements of Tupac’s flow into his rhymes. Frequently rocking a bandana in the same style as ‘Pac didn’t do much to stop slander that he was biting Tupac a bit too much.
Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick recently paid his respects to Tupac, and To Pimp A Butterfly is also basically one long audio letter to Tupac. There’s a reason the original album was slated to be named Tu Pimp A Caterpillar.
Jada Pinkett
While Jada says she and Tupac shared nothing more than a “disgusting” kiss, there was still love…just not of the physical nature. The pair were friends dating back to their pre-superstardom days and also shared screen time on A Different World.
Eminem
Not only did Eminem handwrite a letter to Afeni Shakur, but he produced Tupac’s fifth posthumous album, Loyal To The Game.
Jhene Aiko
So what if Jhene Aiko couldn’t have been more than eight-years-old when ‘Pac died. She recently paid tribute to Tupac by recreating some of ‘Pac’s iconic poses with Danny Williams for TOCK.
Bone Thugs-n-Harmony
Not only was Bone Thugs-n-Harmony one of the few groups to boast collaborations with Tupac and Biggie, but Bizzy Bone paid tribute to ‘Pac with 2014’s “Life Goes On.”
Yukmouth
On 1998’s Thugged Out: The Albulation, Yukmouth paid homage to Thug Life’s 1994 track “Str8 Ballin’” with his own cut entitled “Still Ballin’.”
Rihanna
In January of 2012, Rihanna shocked anyone who happened to catch the news of her inking the phrase “Thug Life” across her knuckles.
Outlawz
As far as paying homage goes, it doesn’t get any iller than allegedly smoking your deceased friend’s ashes in a blunt.
Krazy
It’s hard not to look back on No Limit acolyte Krazy and not see someone who was clearly influenced by Tupac Shakur. There’s a reason people down south were selling I Shed Tears for the World and Please Don’t Kill Me by pretending they were unreleased Makaveli albums.
