Daniel Lara, the central 14-year-old star of the now-viral “Damn, Daniel” video clips, made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday (Feb. 23) alongside his videographer. Lara and best friend Joshua Holz shared how they are handling their newfound fame and also got an epic surprise as well.
As expected from a pair of teenagers, Lara and Holz, 15, had pretty silly intentions in the beginning. In fact, it appears that Lara was a little put off by Holz taping him at first but when it caught on, the rest is history. So far, life for the Poly High Students in Riverside, Calif. has gotten pretty interesting in the last week and both boys seem blown away by all of the attention.
DeGeneres quipped at how Lara has gotten marriage proposals, to which he wisely said he’s not even remotely ready for but he’s definitely happy with all of the attention. And as DeGeneres often does, she surprised Holz, an amateur surfer, with a personalized “Damn, Daniel” surfboard and gave Lara a lifetime supply of Vans.
