So Wait, No Aux Cord?!?
Let’s just get it out of the way already. Apple broke the hearts of many iPhone auxiliary cord DJs and shotgun car riders by removing that option from its latest update. So, without the headphone jack Apple is making a push to the wireless age with its cordless AirPods headphones. Also, Apple says this change adds more hardware inside the device for better audio, video and other capabilities.
But There Is Hope For The Aux Cord Crowd!
The company also hopes that with the advent of Bluetooth capability in cars and other devices that people will ride the wave. There is an adapter that plugs into the phone’s charging and data cord that will provide the auxiliary port feature. But the bottom line is that without the 3.5mm connecting port, you’re gonna have to fork up some cash for those fancy earbuds or use the Lightning earphones and plug in through the charging port.
Those AirPods Will Run You $159
If anything Apple has mastered, it is the fine art of making people buy all the accessories ever for their smartphone devices. The sleek AirPods are a pair of sleek headphones free of cords and promise to deliver big on sound. But it’s gonna cost you $159.
So About That Dual Lens Camera…
The struggle is that the fancy camera that Apple boasts is the best on the market, which features a zoom lens and all other kinds of tricks, will only be available on the more expensive Plus model. The standard 7 model’s camera is still solid and bests the previous 6 model in performance.
Don’t Get In The Water
The hype that the iPhone is dust and water-resistant might be a little overblown. In fact, the device is splash resistant but that doesn’t mean you need to take the phone of a selfie inside the shower.
The Glossy Finish Looks Good But Be Careful
Apple warns that its new jet-black design will be suspectible to fine scratches so you better pony up for a new case pronto.
Hey, It’s Still An iPhone 7
Let’s face it, no matter what operating system you use, iPhone is hear to stay. With iOS 10 boasting a bevy of new features, such as a beefed up messaging system and Siri now able to pair with your apps, it is still one of the most powerful devices on the market. There’s also a beefed up audio system and the integration with iTunes and Apple Music remains top notch.
