Music fans and nerds are currently losing their minds at the news that iconic Los Angeles record store Amoeba Records has sold their building to a condo developer. But they aren’t leaving, yet.

News is spreading on Twitter that the large record store has become the latest store of its kind to bite the bullet. The store’s owners have agreed to the sale of their space to a architecture firm that may have plans to build a “20-something story” tall building with a rooftop pool.

However, many are under the assumption that Amoeba will be closing and getting torn down soon, which is not the case. Amoeba management issued a statement about their future via Twitter.

There you have it from the horses mouth. Amoeba will be there for at least “several” more years. Use that twitter outrage and go buy something from there.
