Damian Lillard is fiercely proud of his Oakland upbringing. The Portland Trailblazer’s star returned to his high school to update its gym, show off his new adidas signature sneakers and in the process hold a rap concert.
It went down Friday night (Dec. 16) at Oakland High School where hundreds of students took in the improvements to the school’s gym and weight room, as well as the addition of a new recording studio for the music program. Also, Lillard’s high school jersey was retired and the kids were blessed with a surprise performance from Fetty Wap, Lil Uzi Vert and DJ Esco.
Those in attendance also got a first Lillard’s new adidas Dame 3 signature basketball shoe.
The event was part of Lillard’s ongoing All Rise adidas campaign whose goal is to support communities via basketball and music.
