The Golden State Warriors are once again knee deep in the NBA playoffs, and Kevin Durant will be rocking a new shoe. Today (May 14), Nike unveiled his latest signature sneaker, the KD1o.
It’s been about a decade since KD got his first signature shoe and the latest is loaded with tech worthy of the milestone.
Designed by Leo Chang, the shoe features Flyknit engineering in the upper with what’s billed as “low stretch, high-tenacity” yarns at various stress points.
“Ten years of anything is pretty huge, but adding something as great as Flyknit makes it really special,” said KD via a press release. “The KD6 was a big turning point. I trusted Leo and Nike to make a low shoe that I can wear on court, and I loved it. Now with the KD10, we combine a low cut with my favorite upper material.”
The lacing system keeps your foot snug while underneath is a full-length Nike Zoom Air unit for cushioning. Aesthetically, it looks like a direct descendant of the KD9, which isn’t a bad thing.
The KD10 in the Anniversary colorway, which is a faint blue and features a Swoosh that spotlights his team colors starting from his sole year at Texas, is out May 26. The KD10 Still KD (read: white) colorway is out June 1.
