Nas just gave The New York Times an update on his album. We think.

Nas, by way of DJ Khaled, got a lot of his fans’ hopes up when they dropped the track “Nas Album Done” way back in July of 2016. Damn near a year later, Nas hasn’t even dropped an official single from the alleged album. While he has kept busy supporting artists like Dave East who is signed to his Mass Appeal label, opening restaurants, producing television projects and rumoredly having sleepovers with Nicki Minaj, it seems like he’s been doing everything but release music.

Well, according to a piece published in the New York Times, that could be changing. When asked just how far off he is from completing his first album since 2012’s Life Is Good, Nas said, “two weeks.”

But he also added, “I always say I’m two weeks away from finishing.”

If there ever was a time for Nas to release new music, it would be now. He is set to go on a joint tour with Ms. Lauryn Hill starting in September and will be performing at the A3C Festival in Atlanta in October.
