Blavity has added to its business holdings in a major way after the acquisition of Travel Noire, a company that details travel lifestyle for Black millennials and beyond. The new venture will expand the reach and scope of Travel Noire, this according to a statement from the company’s founder and CEO.
In a letter describing the change, Ugochukwu said that she met Morgan Debaun, the CEO of Blavity, in 2014 when they were both beginning their own companies and journeys.
She recalled that she “wanted to build something special. Something that didn’t conform to any of the conventional rules” when she founded Travel Noire and said that she had remained in close contact with Debaun as she built up her brand.
Now, with the acquisition by Blavity, Ugochukwu said that Travel Noire is “working on things that we didn’t have the capacity to work on before, with lots of man (and woman) power behind us.”
Congrats to Blavity and the Travel Noire team!
