TMZ is reporting that R&B singer Mario was arrested this morning and charged with 2nd degree assault on his own mother.
According to police, Mario’s mother Shawntia Hathaway told police that the R&B singer was “throwing and damaging property” inside the Baltimore apartment that they share and that he “pushed her around.”
Cops say when they arrived they found several broken items inside the apartment, including a broken china cabinet, a busted mirror and a hole in the closet door.
The 24-year-old singer’s mother also told police the former “Dancing With The Stars” contestant attacked her earlier in the week and pushed her “eight feet into a living room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall.”
Mario whose real name is Mario Dewar Bennett was released on $50,000 bond.
