The thing to know (and love?) about Azealia Banks is that her Twitter mood changes with the weather, as does the direction of her  Broke With Expensive Taste debut. Banks has scrapped the two tracks, “Miss Amor” and Miss Camraderie,” as the first singles off her forthcoming release,  and replaced them with “Yung Rapunxel.”

Azealia Banks just reached the legal drinking age this past May, but could the fast-rising Harlem native already be considering retirement? In an interview with Hypetrak TV during her recent stop in Hong Kong for the Clockenflap music festival, the 1991 rapper spoke on her favorite music of the year, her full-length LP Broke With […]

The feisty Azealia Banks drops the video for the title track, “1991,” off her recent EP. Now the Harlem rapper, vocalist, or whatever she wants to be considered this week, get busy over sparse but funky, Machinedrum-produced track. The cipher is complete as the Interscope/Polydor artist now has a video for every song on the […]

Fresh off of covering SPIN, VIBE, and dissing Jim Jones, Azealia Banks drops another new video off of her 1991 EP, “Van Vogue.” This high energy runway type of music was a popular cut off of her recently released EP and the video features Banks vampin’ it up for the camera. Young Rapunzel soaks up in the lake and […]

She may grabs lots of headlines for her various Twitter beefs, but Azealia Banks is still working very hard on her music career. The Harlem native, who dropped her Fantasea mixtape last month,  has offered up new footage from her 1991 EP. Although she’s not quite ready to unleash her music video for “Van Vogue,” Banks […]

Azealia Banks took her Mermaid Ball to the Henry Ford Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. last night, and she was full of surprises. According to Rap-Up, the crowd was warmed up by the likes of Maluca, Gita, Rye Rye, and more, before the 20-year-old hit the stage for a 45-minute set. Dressed in a barely there […]

She may have a tumultuous relationship with rap, but Azealia Banks has caught the attention of one of the most notable MCs in the game: Nas. In an interview with Rap-Up, God’s Son showered Banks with praise. “I f*** with that ‘212,’” he said. “She has incredible star power, you can see it already. I think we need that. […]

Azealia Banks rides it like a cowboy in the new video for “Liquorice.” This upbeat jam is off of her new EP, 1991. If i’m not mistaken, this is her first video since her break out “212,” single which came out almost ten months ago. Seems like a lot has changed since then as evident […]

Azealia Banks hasn’t even dropped an official album yet, but she’s already done with rap. The 20-year-old pulled a “Nicki Minaj,” by using Twitter to prove that she means business.

As her career continues to pick up steam, Azealia Banks has cut ties with manager, Troy Carter—after only two months together. In April, the “Van Vogue” rapper announced that she was working with Carter, whose clients include Lady Gaga, but according to the New York Daily News, the business relationship is no longer.

She may be unlikable at times, but Azealia Banks‘ 1991 EP offers a refreshing sound, often ignored by Hip Hop fans, but thanks to an active supporting cast and upbeat 90s music sampling, the Harlem/England rapper is making a name for herself. It  looks like Banks has a leg up in what I am referring to as the Aza(e)lea […]

Azealia Banks is hard at work with her new projects Broke With Expensive Taste, Fantastic, and this one four track EP, 1991. Check out the artwork and tracklist for the project after the jump.
