It has been a bumpy road for the Atari VCS, but we are finally here.

Atari's return to the world of consoles was a bumpy one, but now those who have backed the VCS can finally mark your calendars.

At the upcoming D-CAVE NYC event, the Atari VCS will make a "cameo" appearance at the four-day pope-up gaming event. Throughout the event, two Prototypes of the console will be available for attendees to play classic Atari games as well as retro games from Antstream Arcade’s extensive streaming library.

If you have patiently waiting for Atari to finally announce when you can pre-order the companies new console the VCS your time has come.

Atari’s retro console is currently in limbo after it suffered a setback due to some development issues. With a lack of announcements to keep backers briefed Atari has finally given an update on their new console. Well sort of. The console is no longer called the Ataribox it is now known as the Atari VCS.

If you woke up today, excited because you were gonna finally place your pre-order for an AtariBox we have some bad news for you. Atari has announced today via email that pre-orders for the new system will be delayed.
