The iconic late rapper Big L will be honored with a street being named after him in his Harlem neighborhood. The news was revealed through the social media account dedicated to a documentary about his life. The naming ceremony will take place on May 28th.

Big L was shot and killed on February 15, 1999, ending the talented MC’s life and career at just 24-years-old. Yesterday (June 23), Gerard Woodley, the man who many believe murdered the “Ebonics” rapper, was gunned down in Harlem.

To commemorate Big L’s 40th birthday (May 30), Complex revealed a classic clip of the Children of the Corn rapper spitting alongside fellow deceased legend Big Pun.

There have never been any boundaries set between separation of church and the state of rap music and as a result, there have been various religious groups who have called out rappers for their perceived sacrilegious lyrics.
