Kendrick Lamar and the entire Top Dawg Entertainment camp are among the savviest of recording label entities in the game. That fact was secured after K-Dot signed a long-term publishing deal with BMI.

Thursday, September 18, BMI honored Future for his BET Hip-Hop Awards nominations at a private dinner in his native Atlanta.

Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges has been collecting plaques and awards for his music since 2000, and now he’ll be granted another high honor. Next month, Ludacris will be bestowed with the 2014 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards President’s Award.

Curren$y is billed to headline BMI’s 15th annual Unsigned Urban Showcase at Atlanta’s Terminal West, April 11. Earlier today, Spitta was announced as the lead performer for the event, sponsored by V-103 radio station, and Uber  (a product on-demand service owned by Monster).

As pre-Grammy events commenced and music’s biggest stars packed their week’s agenda’s,  BMI snagged a slot Saturday  (Feb. 9) afternoon for their annual “How I Wrote That  Song” panel.  This year’s event  featured Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and B.o.B, all of whom spoke about  some of their most praised songs and creative process.
