Jermaine Dupri has been a living, breathing example of the “mo money, mo problems” slogan for some time now and it doesn’t seem like he can relinquish the title anytime soon.

The rollout effort made by T.I. and his team for the new line of AKOO Clothing Co. has been nothing short of spectacular.

Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri have some major collaborative hits under their belts, including the Grammy Award winning “We Belong Together,” for example. Today (Oct. 7), the music stars confirmed that they are formally joining forces with Dupri joining the former American Idol judge’s management team.

Jermaine Dupri is tackling his money woes head on, by suing his bank. The “Money Ain’t A Thang” rapper claims that his personal banker took advantage of his lack of education to swindle him into agreeing to higher payments that jeopardized his ownership of the So So Def music catalog.

Jermaine Dupri famously rapped “money ain’t a thing,” but this is probably not what he had in mind. The Atlanta Hip-Hop mogul, So So Def Records founder and producer/rapper has been hit with an $800,000 bill courtesy of the IRS. 

Money is definitely a thing for Jermaine Dupri and he needs to pay his bills, stat. The Atlanta rapper/producer/mogul is in danger of losing the rights to music on the So So Def Record label he founded.

Yesterday was the funeral of Chris Kelly of Kris Kross fame. One could only hope that he realized just how many people loved him before he passed away. 

This past weekend, Jermaine Dupri celebrated the 20th anniversary of So So Def Records in Atlanta with a landmark concert at the Fox Theater.

Jermaine Dupri still has plenty of clout in the music business. The producer/artist/mogul put on the So So Def 20th Anniversary Concert in Atlanta and besides So So Def legends like Kriss Kross, Jagged Edge and Xscape, special guests included Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Ludacris and much, much more.

So called MC’s take note, Jay-Z doesn’t like to rhyme over his own records unless it’s the instrumental. Last night (Feb. 23), Jermaine Dupri brought Hova as a not so surprise guest at So So Def’s 20th anniversary concert at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. 

So So Def Records is celebrating its 20th anniversary and founder Jermaine Dupri is making sure the milestone is celebrated in style. Last night at a secret location in Atlanta, JD hosted a private dinner for the old crew and on hand were Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Bonecrusher, Youngbloodz, latest act Fresco Kane and more. 

This week fans receive a double dosage of homage for Jordan Brand’s “XX8 Days Of Flight” campaign with another track, this time featuring the unlikely trio of Jadakiss, Styles P, and wait for it… Bow Wow. Titled “All Js,” the song expands on the previously explored theme of how the Jordan sneaker is important to Hip-Hop culture.
